WHAT IS THE POINT OF THE ANDOR SERIES?
Andor shows us the darker, earthier, and more political side of the Star Wars Universe, where we see events ingeniously developed in-depth, focusing mainly on the audacity of the script and an impeccable direction that conveys a setting wrapped in intriguing suspense. Andor is the prequel to Rogue One: A Star Wars Story
It contains one of the best cinematographic constructions in a franchise product and probably the highest technical quality that a television series has ever achieved. It does not focus on the unbridled action, it is more brilliant in the performances, conceptualization of the plot, and the magnificent production components, with a high level focused on those sections.
As a fan of Star Wars and film, I am impressed with the crafting of this product, with all the compelling filmography slant it prefers to accentuate and the amalgamation of iconic elements of its world, while at the same time giving the necessary intensity to the tone of political thriller in which he transits.
Diego Luna as Andor is a good protagonist, everything around him and the circumstances in which the context places him makes him even more interesting, we see the roots of his struggle, his duality regarding rebel activism, how he rises from a bounty hunter to a selfless mercenary, driven by a just cause, as we saw in Rogue One.
ANDOR IS A SOLID STAR WARS SPY THRILLER
The secondary characters have a lot of time for introspective exploration and are portrayed by the great performance of each of the actors, in addition to everything being written and executed with excellent results by the admirable work of Tony Gilroy and the production team.
A realization with remarkable care and detail, a spectacular set design, the construction of the story is successful in guiding us to the dark, political, dramatic, and emotional environment whenever the footage warrants it, essentially focusing on deep and artistic aspects with imposing expression.
If you hated some of Disney's more recent Star Wars content, then you will love Andor. It is such a breath of fresh air, calling back even more strongly to the original trilogy than the sequels themselves. It has the edgy and dark themes from Rogue One and highlights the dystopian world that Rey and her friend de Ella never seemed to find themselves in, with a touch of dark humor sprinkled in. It somehow draws you in and keeps you engaged for hours of watch time while featuring an unimportant spin-off character. I never would have landed on Andor as the Star Wars show I wanted, but I'm so glad it happened. If they keep moving with this kind of content, the Star Wars franchise could be back on track. absolutely amazing.
